If all the athletic fields at Deerpath Community Park are converted to synthetic fields, that would mean the DPM students could be playing daily on synthetic turf because they play at recess on the two north east most fields on site (fields #5 on page 34 of the 2020 Athletic Field Assessment.

Two popular soccer sports parks close to Lake Forest that can serve as models for our consideration include natural grass fields, are sustainably managed and have both won STMA certification. Danny Cunniff Park in Highland with 4 natural grass soccer fields and 2 baseball fields etc. Named Soccer Field of the Year in 2002 by the Sports Turf Managers Association - preferred home field for elite teams in the Midwest Regional League and maintained without synthetic pesticides. Waukegan’s Greg Prety’s Sports Park - with 13 grass and 1 synthetic fields. The grass fields are highly praised and sought after by the soccer players.
